I've said I'm sorry - again and again
But it's awfully hard on a dog
To snatch him out of a nice warm home
To trial in a heavy fog!

My toes were cold and the ground was wet
And I couldn't concentrate;
So I left the ring to talk to a friend
To arrange a 'heavy date'.

She's driving home with a face like flint -
I dare not raise my head -
Perhaps if I'm perfect the rest of the day
We can make it up in bed.

What! Back to school again?
In forty degrees?
How can she ask me to train
In heat that would sizzle your brain?
Any dog, even PARTIALLY sane
Would be under the trees.
In the cool green shade by the lake
Taking his ease!
But we're WORKING - For heavens sake
Why can't she admit her mistake
And stop at the 10 o'clock break
In conditions like these?

Something tells me it's 'Fun Day'
There's a certain scent in the air -
It's a special sort of Sunday.
Something tells me it's 'Fun Day'
And maybe I'll win it one day -
Let's hurry - we're nearly there!
Something tells me it's 'Fun Day'
There's a certain scent in the air

I wonder if that Poodle knows
That I'm in love with her!
To me, she seems from head to toes
A gorgeous hunk of fur.
Beside her handler's leg she heels
And sits so gracefully -
Roll on the moment when she feels
That she's in love with me!

Somebody beat you to it, Napoleon!
