The Spearman Formula looks a little like this 6 * sum (differences)^2 x = 1 - ------------------------ n x [n x n - 1] n is the number of teams in this instance, ie 32, so the denominator in this case is 32736. differences refers to the difference in your predictions for a particular team to the actual outcome. (ie You say Brazil finish 5th, they finished 1st, difference is 4) The maximum value of this is 1 (you were exactly right in each instance) and the theoretical minimum value is -1. I say theoretical because I can't quite see how you might achieve it, suffice to say you'd have to suck to get that low. Infact any value under zero suggests you'd have been better off picking randomly. Sorry to those in that category.
