The dream...
To make available
suitable scripts for any bible verse or passage.
There are already dramatised bibles available
of course, but they are
static once published. What I want is creative
scripts that are true to what the bible says.
But it's a monster task to do the whole bible.
The Vision
The web makes this dream acheivable.
- Publication is rapid, so the collection stays fresh
- Copyright remains the responsibility of each individual site
- The community acts as overall editor, just by using the scripts
that are helpful
- New authors can start easily
- Authors who only ever write one or two high quality
scripts can contribute (I suspect there are lots of you
out there)
It doesn't matter if there's more than one index,
any more than it matters if there's more than one
script for a particular passage (in fact it's a very good
idea). The web allows us to have alternatives at little
overhead. Others have already started,
see the links below. And we'll never finish, until He returns.
You can
help in lots of ways, including...
- Put your own original scripts, ideas, etc onto
the web. Put some thought into copyright (and don't
don't don't steal!), but I just want to link to your
stuff not copy it. I recommend using
the
Christian Mime and Drama template
for consistency, but I don't
insist on it.
- Email me
the URL so I can index it and link to it!
- Contact and encourage the authors whose work you
use.
- Pray for the venture. All Christian performers are in
a position of exceptional temptation, and many fall.
I think the promise in Mark 16:18 is important, but
we need to claim it.
I'd also like to hear about other suitable links
as you find them.

Scripts in This Collection
- Christmas Eve.
A modern soapie interpretation.
- Gideon.
Despite several popular scripts to the contrary,
the bible doesn't make him out such a wimp.
- The Philippian Jailer.
Setting of the passage from Acts which while useful in itself
is also a good example of what can be done.
- The Critic.
A challenging one-act skit for worship, which seeks to
question the values of large-budget secular
entertainment.
Links to Other Collections
Christian Drama and Mime
is a collection of scripts which includes
an index by bible reference. Authors are invited
to contribute, and there is a list of
script requests so that authors can respond. So all Christian
playwrights and dramatists
should lurk on
this page!
His Company Catalogue of Plays,
consistently high quality material.
Dramashare Home Page
Eric Haynes' Index of Plays

zinograffiti, online Christian magazine, brilliant!
Christian Drama Consortium
The
DFC, UK (Dance for Christ) - Home Page, well worth a look.
GROKNET Home Page. Awesomely professional Sydney-based Christian troupe,
informative site.
The Covenant Players Home Page.
Completely rewritten, greatly improved and well worth a look.
It's still 90K and under construction but now has some content and
lets you look at it without waiting for the graphics to load.
Mind you those who've seen them in action will want to
visit their page whatever I say about it.
