Christian Sexuality - A User Guide

Just a twinkle in the eye at this stage, but...

This is a project I've had in mind for a while. Eventually I'd like to have two panels of writers, one male and one female, to each write two sections, one addressed to a hypothetical male and the other to a hypothetical female. So on each topic you'd get four viewpoints. I think all four would be of interest to people of both genders, and I think they'd have subtle but important differences.

I know there is demand for yet another work on Christian Sexuality. Young people today have a lot more knowledge than I had at their age, but it often does not answer their needs helpfully. And older people, myself included, have questions too, and it's often difficult to get helpful answers. The feedback from my web pages has confirmed this.

I think that there is also an enormous demand outside Christian circles. This follows quite logically from my Christian faith. The world has many obvious problems with sexual issues. If Christ really is the answer, as I believe, it's strange that Christians seem to expect Christian teaching to be of use only to Christians. Christ did often ask people to have faith before he healed them, but he didn't ask them to have a particular theology, just to trust him. I think that if we make the same offer to the secular world, we will find many eager to accept it, and many will in this way come to Christ.

But we need to produce a high-quality product to achieve this. We need to admit that the reason that the world hasn't beaten a path to our door isn't that the Gospel is unsaleable, it's that so much current Christian material is the same old unbiblical, illogical, unhelpful cliches put into slick modern language. It's no wonder the world finds this no help!

(I have the same problem with a lot of Christian music.)

I imagine the finished work being something like an encyclopaedia, with an alphabetical index, but with four articles per entry. HTML is an obvious medium for this, so it's an obvious web project.

Comments welcome! In particular, I welcome offers of collaboration. The only non-negotiables are faith and interest.
