SHAME AUSTRALIA SHAME

We have been encouraged in all this by a Government whose grip on power has been strengthened by every threat - real or imagined to our security. It has involved us in the inhumane treatment of refugees, dragged us into an illegal war and challenged our belief in ourselves as an egalitarian society." Why I do not consider the present Australian Government represents Christian values. 1. Taking part in the coalition of the willing by invading Iraq based on a lie. 2. The inhumane treatment of asylum seekers. 3. The lies concerning the Tampa and children overboard. 4. The attitude towards and treatment of the poor and disadvantaged particularly in regard to healthcare and education. 5. The lack of adequate steps to protect the environment. 6. The use of fear tactics for political gain. For example, if the government was not elected interest rates could rise. 7. The continuous development of a system that encourages and rewards individual wealth, materialism and greed.
