A Tribute To Roy Orbison

Featuring Robin Lee Sinclair

The Roy Orbision Tribute Show was put together to celebrate the memory of a great performer and everybody in the show has a passion for the man’s music. A lot of concept shows are paying tribute to performers who are still working in the industry. Our show is a memorial to a great performer who will never be seen again.

The Roy Orbison Tribute Show salutes a man who gave generations of fans beautifully crafted songs that are still as fresh today as when they were recorded. Roy’s perfect falsetto voice and orchestral arrangements stood out at a time when guitar and drum bands ruled the airwaves.

This show is constructed to give fans of Roy a glimpse of what it might have been like to hear the great man perform live.
Robin Lee Sinclair’s vocal range and presence have an uncanny resemblance to Roy’s and will send shivers down the spine of the most ardent fan.

Robin has been at six live Orbison performances and can adopt the Orbison persona with amazing precision. He has released several singles with impressive sales here and in Europe. His current album “Honky Tonk Heaven” is doing great in the country music charts.

HISTORY OF ROY ORBISON

Roy Orbison was born in Vernon, Texas on 23rd April 1936.

At a young age, Roy had become thrilled by music and his youth was marked by a single-minded obsession to have a musical career.

His first hit “Uptown”, made in 1960, gave his confidence a boost and spurred a flurry of composing which yielded “Only The Lonely”, a song that emphasized the unique quality of his falsetto voice.

“Only The Lonely” proved to be Roy’s calling card to success.  He began to write and record hit after hit.  “Crying”, “Dream Baby”, “Running Scared”, “Mean Woman Blues” and “Pretty Woman” were all top sellers in the early sixties.

The 70’s proved a difficult time for Roy’s music, but in the late 1980’s his career was resurrected with “The Traveling Wilburys” until on 6th December 1988, Roy collapsed and died of a severe heart attack.
