The beast lives!! For those that have been following the years-long saga of getting a 37 yo car on the road, well it was all done...and then I moved to London! The car now sits in storage in Sydney awaiting my return...

I started driving in 1986 and my first car was a 1966 Mk I Ford Cortina.  Not having a lot of cash, I quickly learned my way around a car's mechanicals.  I owned a succession of Cortinas and Anglias and somewhere along the way, someone made me realise that you can make little cars go damned fast.  Not only that, but because of their weight advantage, they corner and stop much better than your average V8 wank-mobile.

Then I got introduced to FIATs and the rest is history.

I can't stop talking about how brilliant these little Italian rockets are.  Superior engineering is the key.  My first FIAT was a 124 BC Coupé.  This car had a perky twin-cam engine, 5-speed gearbox, 4-wheel disc brakes, coil springs all round with double wishbones at the front and a 5-link rear end.  All of which could be taken apart and put back together with ease and all in a car which first appeared in 1968!

Take a look at my current car and then at my FIAT links page where you can see some more information about what the rest of the world is doing with this great marque.

Enjoy!
