Video, OS/2 Warp and IBM ThinkPads
Last Updated: 30th December, 1994
Symptoms
Video display is corrupted in OS/2 and/or Win-OS/2.
Hardware
IBM ThinkPad models 360x, 750x and 755x.
Problem
The drivers supplied with the ThinkPad in
OS/2 Warp install ok but do not behave reliably.
This seems to be more of a problem on colour
models than on monochrome models, perhaps because
colour displays put more demands on the drivers.
Fix
Obtain the latest video features diskette from IBM.
As of 29/12/94, the current version of the
IBM ThinkPad Video Features Diskette is
v1.33. It can be obtained from:
ftp://ftp.pcco.ibm.com/pub/mobiles/vftps133.exe
Follow the instructions in the documentation
of the self-extracting zip for making and installing the video
features diskette.
Notes
If you need to vary the documented procedure at all
to get it working for you, please send me a note and
I'll update this page accordingly.
