Rosherville Lighthouse, Sydney Harbour

This is the Rosherville Lighthouse, near The Spit in Sydney Harbour, taken using a Praktica MTL3 (SLR camera) with a Soviet "HELIOS 44M" 58mm f2 lens on Rollei R3 B&W negative film processed at 400ASA by a pro lab, and scanned onto a CD by another lab. They were taken in August 2006.

Getting to this light

This lighthouse is just south of The Spit on the north side of Sydney Harbour.

You can drive there from the city along Military Road and Spit Road. From the North you can use the Wakehurst Parkway, etc, then Manly Road, which becomes Spit Road, where it crosses The Spit Bridge. You need to enter Parriwi Road at the southern end - up the hill. I am not sure why you are not allowed to turn into the bottom - perhaps to force you to go past the Revenue Cameras which are prolific in the area.

You can also get a Chatswood / RNS / St Leonards to Manly bus: 143 or 144 (timetable and map); or other Warringah District bus (timetable and map). You can also include a Manly Ferry or JetCat: (timetable) in your trip.

Parriwi Road is on the eastern, or Manly / Ocean side of Spit Road.

If viewing from Clontarf Reserve, you can park in Holmes Avenue, south of the Sydney Water structure for free.
