Wallabies in our backyard!!!

These pictures show wallabies in the land behind our place, in a northern suburb of Sydney! They come into this area for the greener vegetation.

These are "Swamp Wallabies". A wallaby is a small version of a kangaroo - not a baby kangaroo, which is called a joey.

With a joey!

This earlier set shows a mother with her joey - a growing baby. Taken using a Praktica MTL3 SLR camera, probably with a 135mm lens. Scanned from prints.

The joey's ears and front paws are visible - it is also eating the grass.
Am I being watched?

More Recent!

Taken in March 2002, using the Practica with a 500mm, f8 mirror lens on Kodak 400 print film, and scanned onto a Kodak Picture CD by the minilab. Adjustments were made in Paint Shop Pro v3.11. Click on "Larger image" to see a higher resolution version.
