Alpine 1.10 for OS/2 (C) 2006-2008 The University of Washington. OS/2 Port by Nicholas Sheppard (nps@zeta.org.au) INTRODUCTION ============ This is my port of Alpine 1.10. The port includes: * the Alpine mail and news client; * the Pico text editor; * the Pilot file browser; * the University of Washington mail servers; and * several utilities for managing mail and testing mail servers. I have not (yet) attempted to port the web-based interface. Alpine is originally developed by the University of Washington. Information about the current state of Alpine for OS/2 can be found on my web site at http://www.zeta.org.au/~nps/software/alpine/en/index.html General Alpine information can be found at the University of Washington's site at http://www.washington.edu/alpine INSTALLATION AND DOCUMENTATION ============================== Alpine is distributed in two parts: * alpi110.zip, which contains the Alpine client, Pico and Pilot; and * uwim110.zip, which contains the Uni of Washington POP3 and IMAP servers Each package is self-contained. Unzip all of the packages you want into the same directory. Each component of the distribution is documented separately: * UWALPINE.OS2 -- Installation instructions for the Alpine client (most people will want to read this) * UWIMAPD.OS2 -- Installation instructions for the University of Washington mail servers (for mail server users only) * PWD2.OS2 -- Documentation for the Pwd/2 password management utilities (for mail server users only). Alpine has extensive on-line user help, and technical information is available in tech-notes.txt. Changes specific to the OS/2 version of Alpine are documented in CHANGES.OS2 LEGAL STUFF =========== Alpine is (c) 2006-2008 The University of Washington.
