Lout is a document formatting system similar to LaTeX that produces PostScript documents from text mark-up. More information about Lout can be found on the Lout home page at http://lout.wiki.sourceforge.net/. Lout is distributed under the GNU General Public Licence.
Lout was developed for Unix systems but it is straightforward to compile it for OS/2 using EMX. You need
lout-3.36.tar.gz
-- the original Lout source code (2.0M)
lout-3.36-os2.zip
-- a modified make file and small patch (7k)
Makefile.emx)
For those not able or inclined to compile their own, a binary distribution (3.0M) is available on Hobbes at ftp://ftp-os2.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/apps/wp/lout336.zip. You will need to install the EMX run-time libraries if you haven't got them already.
