Below I've detailed a number of links to web-sites that I use regularly in my work as an IT Support engineer. They're here mainly so that if I'm working on a computer and I don't have my laptop handy I can go straight to the section of a vendor's website that I want without having to go through all the front pages of the site.
Microsoft TechNet Microsoft TechNet: This is possibly the most useful site for Technical Support people who have anything to do with Microsoft products all over the world.
Toshiba US Toshiba's US Technical Support Center: This is a very useful site for drivers and the like for Toshiba laptops.
Toshiba Oz Toshiba Australia's Technical Support Center: It seems that some models of Toshiba laptop that are released in Australia aren't also released in the US so the drivers for them can't be found on the US site. While the Aussie site isn't quite as good as the US site, it does have most of the drivers for the models that are release in Australia.
Toshiba Canada Toshiba Canada's Technical Support Center: If the drivers or support for a particular model can't be found on either the US or Australian sites then it can usually be found on the Canadian site and sometimes they're more up to date than either of them.
Dell Support Dell's Support Site: This is a direct link to the download section of Dell's website where the drivers for all of Dell's computers are available.
Dell Documents Dell's Support Documents: Support information for just about all of Dell's systems and components can be found here.

Useful Virus Information Sites
If you only ever purchase one piece of software then that it should be an anti-virus program. The links below are links to the the information sections of some reputable anti-virus companies.
Computer Associates Virus Information Centre Computer Associates' Virus Information Centre: This is used to be part of the VET Website and since they moved it to the Computer Associates' website it hasn't been quite as good. Be that as it may, it is still a useful source of virus info and the VET program is a great anti-virus tool.
Symantec's Virus Encyclopaedia Symantec's Virus Encyclopaedia: Symantec produce Norton Anti-Virus - a very reputable anti-virus tool.
McAfee's Virus Information Library McAfee's Virus Information Library: Another producer of reputable anti-virus software.
The Wild List Organisation International The Wild List Organisation International: for an extremely comprehensive guide to viruses this site is generally regarded as the authority on everything to do with viruses.

Sites With Information About Virus Hoaxes
These days virus hoaxes cause more trouble than viruses themselves. This is because as soon as an unwary person receives a hoax they then forward of to as many people as they can. Any of the recipients who don't know any better then forward it to as many people as they can. All it takes is a this process to repeat itself a few times and you've enough email traffic to bring down most email servers. Therefore if you do get a warning from a friend before you rush off and forward it to everyone that you know, please, please check it out on one of these sites. Who knows you may actually save yourself looking like a goose when one of the recipient who does know better then replies to all of your friends telling them then that the really important virus warning that you sent them is actually a joke with you as the victim.
