Imprisoned 1156 joining his father in Roxburg castle..
In 1160 King Malcolm IV gave the Moray lands to his
Scoto-Norman followers. They scattered in all directions, some
going north to the Province of Cat, then under the sway of the
Norsemen. By this time the Pictish population had been
subdued by the Norsemen & had probably intermarried with
their conquerors. The MacEth family were foremost in the
rebellion against the king.
